Frequently Asked Questions
GST Exclusive means the given amount does not include GST. The calculator will add the applicable GST to the base amount to give you the total payable amount. For example, ₹1,000 at 18% GST = ₹1,180 total.
GST Inclusive means the given amount already includes GST. The calculator will extract the GST amount and show the base price. For example, ₹1,180 with 18% GST included = ₹1,000 base price + ₹180 GST.
For intra-state (within the same state) transactions, GST is split equally between Central GST (CGST) and State GST (SGST). Each gets 50% of the total GST. For example, 18% GST = 9% CGST + 9% SGST.
India has four main GST slabs: 5% (essential items), 12% (standard items), 18% (services and most goods), and 28% (luxury items, automobiles). Some essential items like fresh food are exempt (0% GST).
